SOHS Autumn Newsletter Part 1/3 - Date posted 06/10/2020

What a busy summer it has been for everyone at South Oxfordshire Hunt South, I’m sure you’ve all enjoyed the extra time you’ve been able to spend with your horses during lockdown. With autumn almost upon us, we wanted to take a moment to look back and share some of the best bits from the summer, but also provide an update on some of the events we’ve got to look forward to.

A quick look back

Despite restrictions we’ve enjoyed a brilliant program of events and rallies this summer and we were delighted to host our ‘Alternative Camp’.

A big thank you to everyone who made Mini and Junior camp happen and to Zoe, Roddy, Marjorie and Bob for hosting us at Shimmel’s Farm. The children and ponies certainly packed in a great deal to their three days with Show Jumping, Mounted Games, Cross Country, Polo and space themed fancy dress as well as visiting guests Emerson & Watson Vets and the Kimblewick Hunt’s Andrew Sallis and hounds. Thank you also to Lorna for a great pony craft session.

Despite all Area Competitions being cancelled this didn’t stop our Seniors who have enjoyed their Area Event training at Attington this summer completing both Show Jumping and Cross Country rallies with Jane.

Seniors and Juniors also enjoyed a fantastic day at Rosehill in the late August sunshine for our Cross Country Rally with many of our members trying out the course for the first time. Everyone did a terrific job and we hope to run more of these sessions in the future.
